The Journey
Asem Ghabra and Baraat Khudeir opened the first Shawerma Plus quick service restaurant in 2012. One year later, they were joined by Jawad Ghabra, who in 2016 helped the group launch their second restaurant in the heart of Waterloo (Uni. Ave. W.). With a 1000 sq. ft. kitchen, this location helped Shawerma Plus scale to regional leader status through catering, large orders and late night delivery services.
Today, this tri-city favorite has become an award-winning icon amongst shawerma lovers and foodies.
We are now ready to bring the Shawerma Plus brand several other cities in Ontario (and beyond) over the next few years.

The Team
The Shawerma Plus team is headlined by two award winning chefs Asim Ghabra and Jawad Al Ghabra working alongside the culinary magic of Baraat Khudeir to craft and refine middle eastern classics in their most authentic form.
The team was strengthened with the addition of Mohammad Ghabra in 2015, who brings in years of management experience and kitchen expertise to the team.

As a Co-Founder, Jawad Alghabra takes the fundamentals instilled within him by his parents and merges them with the newest technologies and best practices in the contemporary restaurant industry.
